Who Does Not Love Alligator Gar
The alligator gar fish is a great fish species, the gator gar is the most massive freshwater fish in the continent of North America. Many of humans living in the USA do not even know it is here, which is odd.
The alligator gar looks like an old fish or aquatic dinosaur, it's coated with armor skin from tip to tail, even the alligator gar's skull and mouth is hardened. This is why hunters hunt for this fish with nets or bows, typical rods does not work that well.
The alligator gar not all the far back was very much close gone forever, they now largely are found in the southern and central United States lakes and river systems. These fish can grow to about 400 lbs when they are allowed to reach their peak size. Although with their environment being reduced and sports fishing, it is hard for these big predator fish to florish.
There are many species of gar fish but the alligator gar is the biggest of all, and exclusively found in North America waters. So I have a particular fondness of them, and dream to have a day where their great populations and size will come back to what they were once.
